Q + A

WHY DID WE CHOOSE HAWAII FOR OUR WEDDING?

Hawaii holds a very special place in our hearts. We have created so many memories there and it would only be right to share our special day in the land of aloha wth all the people we love.

WHERE IS THE VENUE LOCATED?

The Moana Surfrider Waikiki is located in the heart of Waikiki. The hotel backs on to Waikiki Beach and is Waikiki's first hotel. It is known as the “First Lady of Waikiki". Please know you are not required to stay close to the venue or in the Waikiki area. There is so much to explore on the island of Oahu.

IS THERE A COUPON CODE FOR HOTELS?

To allow flexibility for our guests we have negotiated a discount for 4 hotels in Waikiki. These room rates are on a first come, first serve basis and not always available. We would highly encourage you to book as soon as you book your flights, so that you can take advantage of the discounts. Please add the code K6Y in the "Corp/Promo Code" field when searching for hotels on Marriott.com. The promo code is available to use at the Moana Surfrider, Sheraton Princess Kaiulani, Royal Hawaiian and Sheraton Waikiki.

DO WE HAVE TO STAY AT A MARRIOT HOTEL?

Please feel free to stay at a hotel of your choosing. We have stayed at some great Airbnbs throughout the years. For other hotels, we really like the Hilton Waikiki Beach hotel. Expedia, Costco Travel, Booking.com and Hotel.com also have some great deals so be sure to check out those sites too.

WHICH AIRPORT SHOULD I FLY IN TO?

The airport code is HNL also known as Honolulu International Airport, OR Daniel K. Inouye International Airport.

WHEN SHOULD WE BUY FLIGHTS?

Anytime you'd like. If you can score flights for $550 or under - that is a steal! We suggest you make it a habit to check Google Flights periodically to monitor the flight prices. We'd also suggest signing up for WestJet and Air Canada marketing emails so you don't miss any sales! WestJet's birthday is February 29th, and there are usually some good sales that week, so make sure to mark your calendars. Most Canadian airlines will have holiday sales so be sure to keep an eye on your email for upcoming holidays like Family day, Easter, May long and Canada Day.

WHEN SHOULD WE FLY IN?

We suggest that you fly in by Sunday, October 13 incase there are any delays with your flight or lost baggages. We are also planning a Welcome party and would love to have you swing by to say aloha!

HOW LONG SHOULD I STAY?

Ideally, you will want to stay for at least a week to experience all the beaches and beautiful sites that Oahu has to offer!

SHOULD I RENT A CAR?

You will definitely need a car if you want to explore the island. Keep in mind that parking is extremely limited and expensive in Waikiki so we suggest only renting a car for the days you will be out exploring. There is also a lot to do around Waikiki and tours you can go on if renting a car isn't your thing! Uber and Lyft also makes it easy to get around as well.

WILL THERE BE FOOD AND DRINKS AT THE RECEPTION?

DUH! Bring your stretchy clothes!

WILL THERE BE ANY SPECIAL DIET OPTIONS?

Of course, please let us know via email or through the RSVP form. Our email is: annaandyveswedding@gmail.com

WHAT IS THE DRESS CODE FOR THE RECEPTION?

Aloha attire! Think some where between beach semi-formal to beach casual-ish. We hope the weather will be great so we will spend the entire reception outdoors. For the ladies, think light flowly dresses, romper, dressy sandals, and wedges. For the men, think short sleeve buttons up, Hawaiian shirts, polos, nice chino shorts and closed-toe shoes. Please leave your swimwear, yoga wear, flip flops, jeans and ball caps at the hotel.

WHAT IF I CAN'T MAKE IT?

You will be so missed! But we won't hold it against you. If you can't make it, please let us know as soon as possible and RSVP “no,” so we can plan accordingly.

WHERE IS YOUR WEDDING REGISTRY?

Your presence is the only gift we need. Please do not bring us gifts in Hawaii. We are just so happy to be able to spend out special day with you!

CAN I BRING A PLUS ONE?

Our celebration is strictly RSVP only. We are only able to accommodate those that were invited.

WHAT IS THE WEATHER LIKE THIS TIME OF YEAR?

The weather is beautiful this time of year. You can expect the weather to hover between 25 °C - 30 °C. There may be light showers here and there but usually short bursts. When traveling throughout island, you may come across variations of temperature if you are going into the mountains and hiking. Higher altitudes mean lower temperatures even in Hawaii. We'd recommend bringing a light jacket for those adventures.

I STILL HAVE MORE QUESTIONS, HOW CAN I CONTACT YOU?

Please send us an email at annaandyveswedding@gmail.com and we will respond as soon as we can.
